I love the romance and the drama and the steaminess of Bridgerton. Something I never expected to be OBSESSED with though was the MUSIC! Who would have thought that a show about Regency London would be able to naturally infuse Rihanna and Madonna and Taylor Swift into its storyline... but it does! I'm OBSESSED. I tried to catch all of them in there and listed them below.

When we learned that Rege-Jean Page wasn't going to be returning to Bridgerton Season 2, I was pretty bummed. I thought he was so great (OK, and hot) and I couldn't imagine how they'd naturally write him out of the show without it feeling like a huge hole in the plot. I figured his absence would also leave any furthering plot line for Daphne to feel stilted.

But then I watched Season 2! And Simon who? I seriously totally forgot about the guy because I was so wrapped up in Anthony and Kate's story. Sure, it was a little funny to see Daphne be rather present in her siblings' lives and her husband be completely MIA. And yes, I would have expected at least ONE pop in from the actor — can't we work his day rate into the budget? But all-in-all, I really feel like the show did a great job at moving the story along without dwelling on the happenings of Season 1.

What did you guys think? Did you miss Simon, or were you distracted enough by everything else going on!

I go back and forth in my mind a lot about this. The first season I obviously was in love with Simon. But this season Anthony really did it for me. Maybe because I was so into The Duke the first season I was almost taken aback with how attracted I am to Anthony. And getting rid of those mutton chops really helped 🤣.

Thoughts?

I spent my weekend bingeing 'Bridgerton' and I need more. Lucky for all of us, the show has already been renewed for a 3rd and 4th season 🙌.

I have read 5 out of the 8 books and I am happy to report, if the show is going in order, that the 3rd book is my favorite of the ones I've read so far and is centered around Benedict. This book is very cinderella themed, with steamy scenes of course. Although, I do wonder if they'll skip to the 4th book, which is centered around Colin and a certain someone you can probably guess since they've been building this up for a while. Eloise is book 5 and TBH it's the only one I have not liked. This may be the first time I have ever wanted something to be different than the books. Book 6 is Francesca all grown up and although I haven't read it, I hear it's steamy and people's favorite so I'm excited. I'm sure by the time they get around to film this, she'll be of age. And then we can't forget about little Hyacinth and Gregory!

Who are you most excited to see?

After finally finishing the second season of the show, I am dying to know who everyone's favorite Bridgerton is?

Mine has to be Benedict Bridgerton. He is adorable, a little silly, and not caught up in what seems like most people are in the ton. I love that he is artsy! He also rides a fine line of an older brother at times, a younger brother at times, and also a young man trying to grow up. He just stands out from the rest to me, kind of like Eloise, too. I am excited for his story to unfold hopefully in the upcoming seasons.

Despite my better judgements and in the absence of The Dropout, I binged all eight episodes of Bridgerton s2 this weekend. And when, I say weekend, I mean about 12 hours split between Friday night and Saturday morning. Now Bridgertson s1 is not something I enjoyed, but I watched so being cursed with s2 is mostly my own damn fault. So here are some stray thoughts on the less than stellar follow-up:

1. Someone has to stop the madness over at Shondaland because if they think I signed up to watch subplots about art school, they are wrong!

2. Did any one else totally forget the family's name is Bridgerton? I thought that was they town they lived in. Other things I forgot, the two youngest siblings and almost every character's name. Also that Daddy Bridgerton died.

3. Much has been made of the second season's lack of sex. I am mostly fine with this, because it seems they want to tell a different kind of love story. So sure, The Duke & Homegirl with the bad bangs had a raw sexual chemistry, and these two are giving more Pride and Prejudice. Well if that's the case, somebody call Matthew McFayden and Keira, because the Viscount and Kate don't have the chemistry! I feel across the board we are letting chemistry slip away and just throwing people together on screen now. Fitz and Olivia didn't f-ck there way around D.C. for this!

4. Where all the gays? I'm sorry but I cannot stand for this anymore. Bridgerton needs a shady gay - maybe that hangs out with the queen and ends up having an affair with Tony Goldwyn. I'm tech avail Shonda!

5. If we are following the remaining Bridgerton children in the upcoming seasons, we need a hard re-cast, because I do not care about them. In fact, take the whole cast of Sex Lives of College Girls and drop them in Bridgerton. You're welcome Netflix!

I'd would also like to see is us follow the hot blonde from across the street to America, a whole show about young Lady Danbury, or a reboot of HOW TO GET AWAY WITH MURDER.

Does anyone see troubled Dylan McKay in Viscount Bridgerton during S2EP3 or is it just me?
