What series or movie is on your watch later list? If it’s one I’ve seen, I’ll tell you if it’s good or not

I have a very lazy Saturday, which means watching lots of TV and snuggling with my cat. The problem is I'm up to date on everyyyything and have "nothing to watch." So I'm scrolling through Netflix and click on Good Girls.

Why have I not watched this show already??? I love Retta and Mae Whitman. I'm not sure how many episodes David Hornsby is in, but I love him too. The music in the show is great, I'm laughing, I'm tearing up watching Retta deal with her daughter's illness -- it's all around exactly what I need! I'm excited to keep watching and so glad I have 4 seasons to enjoy.

Of course, it's just like me to get into a show after it's already been canceled.

Speaking of edits, I know it's a heavily edited show and we don't *really* know the characters, but I don't think I would marry any of them, but let's pretend I HAD to chose one.

Our options are: Shake, Shayne, Salvador, Jarrette, and Nick. Shake is an absolutely not and even Nick seemed to have controlling tendencies and I don't like how he handled arguments. I'm not sure if I missed the big fight between Shayne and Natalie (I fast forwarded... A LOT), and while he did start to grow on me, I don't think I would have married him. I did like Jarrette and his dad was the cutest, but if I HAD to marry someone, I'm choosing Sal.

Normally I'm not a ukelele type of girl, but Sal was so genuine and caring. The way he spoke to Mallory's family after the wedding ceremony. A GEM. I think he was marriage material.

Dexter.

How I Met Your Mother.

Game of Thrones.

Lost.

And, now, Ozark.

I'm not going to spoil anything for those of you who are still living in blissful ignorance, but it is absolutely stunning how badly they botched the ending to this show. Whatever the opposite of fan service is, it's this finale. What a complete and utter misfire.

So obviously these people are wild, they are on a show about giving their person an ultimatum and my thing is... didn't they have these conversation when they met? Like "hey do you want kids", "hey do you want marriage?" AM I INSANE.

Also, 80% of these people (if not more), really do not love the other person, they just don't want to be alone.

PS. Nick and Vanessa are 2022 version of Tyra Banks.

If you haven’t watched The Tinder Swindler on Netflix yet, it’s time. You won’t regret it. 

This one-hour-and-fifty-four minute true crime documentary will bring you on a rollercoaster of emotions. I have never felt so much hate toward one person, ever. This man, Simon (or whatever his name is), managed to live a lavish lifestyle and fly in private jets by stealing money from several women. He used one woman’s money to pay for dates with another woman, and then another, etc. Honestly, I’m just wondering how he kept track of his funds. The one big question that I had throughout this entire documentary was - “how the hell could these women not have seen through his lies earlier?” If a guy I just started dating asked me for tens of thousands of dollars because he was being chased by his “enemies,” I would immediately break up with him. If that’s not the biggest red flag ever then I don’t know what is! The ending of this documentary had me jumping out of my seat and screaming at the TV. Go watch it, you’ll see what I mean. No spoilers here. 

I may be the only one who does this, IDK, but I always do deep dives into men if I’m going out with them. Google? Facebook? Instagram? Linkedin? You name it, I checked it. 

Tinder is a game changer, with data showing that 15-20% of profiles are fake (this is data from all dating apps, not just Tinder). Kinda scared to ever revisit those apps. Thanks Tinder Swindler. Thoughts?

We watched the Adam Project the other night. Cute film, but I really don’t understand the appeal of Ryan Reynolds. Seems like a nice enough guy, but just pretty average in most areas. What am I missing here???

Ok! We’ve seen the first five episodes of the new season, and now it’s time to decide who we only want despair for LOL I’ll go first: everything about Shayne… from the inside out… annoys my very being and makes the back of my neck itch. His “too cool for school” frat boy voice, his thinly veiled gaslighting of women, his immediate “ready to give up and walk away” attitude. He was NOT a serious contender for this show. Good for dramatic purposes yet, but he was NEVER going to be in a Cameron and Lauren type relationship. (Phaedra Parks voice) GO AWAY FROM ME WITH THIS, APOLLO!
