Can I propose a book club? I'm an avid reader and y'all are one of my favorite internet communities ever!! No idea on the logistics but throwing it out there because I feel like it could be fun! Maybe even throw in some Bravolebrity books!
For me, nothing will ever compare to reading the Lord Of The Rings trilogy, John Steinbeck’s East of Eden, Jon Krakauer’s Into Thin Air, and The Westing Game (which, imo, did Knives Out better than Knives Out, even though it's a children’s book).
What about you, though? Which book do you wish you could experience for the first time?
I just started The Silent Patient and I feel like this will be an example of a book so good I don't want it to end.
I've heard a lot of good things about this novel, curious if anyone else here has read it?
If you were stranded on a desert island, and could choose three books to bring with you, what would they be?
Caveat: At least one of them has to be helpful to your survival in some way, whether to help you get off the island or stay sane on it!
Has anyone read this series? I just, on a whim, bought the FULL box set yesterday and plan on diving in. I'm not a huge fantasy person (I'm not really a fantasy person at all) but have heard that these are the next Game of Thrones... so we'll see!
Would love to find people to discuss it with! LMK! :)
There are only so many minutes in the day I can dedicate to reading, so, for me, I’ve gotta get hooked into a book fast.
Typically, if I’m not intrigued by the third chapter, I’ll give up, but that also makes me feel impatient. There’s value in a slow burn, and I sometimes feel like I don’t allow the time to appreciate something fully.
When do you give up on a book, and when SHOULD we give up on a book?
Did you ever feel slighted by a movie adaptation’s choice of actor for a fave character?
The one that sticks out to me most is Gary Oldman as Sirius Black. I still, to this day, don’t understand why they took a character known for being mysterious, young, and hot in the books and chose… Gary Oldman.
I don’t know about y’all but Where the Crawdads Sing is to this day one of the best books I have ever read. I have had such an emotional attachment to this piece of art and have been waiting for Reese Witherspoon to make the movie since I read the last page.
But recently I saw the trailer for the movie and Kaia’s character is not at all what I pictured her to be and it’s sort of stressing me out a bit!! Has anyone else seen the trailer? Here is the link below. Let me know what you Crawdads fans think!!
