JK — NO ONE PUT THAT. Mine is actually The Subtle Art of Not Giving a Fuck by Mark Manson. I think it's something everyone — empaths and sociopaths alike — should read. 

A Little Life. I will never forgive my friend who told me to get it because I couldn't emotionally recover from it for DAYS. Really made me think about we should all be kind and you never know what someone else is going through.

This is perhaps the most basic bitch answer of all time, but Changes For Molly. Yes, the sixth book in Molly's American Girl stories. 

First of all, it sent me on a years-long endeavor to curl my hair with bobby pins. (It never worked.) But it also ends with so much optimism that I've really tried to carry with me my whole life. 

And her stars and stripes costume was super cute too. Again, I'm basic.

The Westing Game was the book that made me want to become a writer. It was so clever, with a twist ending that honestly made me disappointed at the end of Knives Out. (TWG did it so much better.)
