Do you have quiet brain?
This post inspired by this tweet:
“I saw a tiktok that said some people DON'T have constant, nonstop inner dialogues, like, sometimes they just have quiet brains and no thoughts, and I.......can't tell if that's something that's fake. Like a thing they made up for the internet.”

So, do you have quiet brain, or a constant swirl? I cannot imagine having the former — admittedly, I can be a terrible listener because I literally can’t take in any new thoughts. I’ve simply packed too much in that’s already dancing around my brain.

What the heck. There is literally never a moment that my internal dialogue shuts up.
I thought Quiet Brain wasn't real...also how do you truly quantify quiet brain?
I'm so blown away right now I don't know what to write and need some resources to try to understand this asap.
okay so i actually am taking a psych class and this is one of the issue we debated about today! apparently, developmental psychologists aren't even sure about this, whether we are eternally trapped in a monologue or our brain whirs around images from what's happening/what's going to happen/what happened in the past
my brain is about as quiet as a college sports bar on final four weekend. <3 Must be nice though!
My god what I wouldn't give for like 5 minutes of quiet brain.
Hello, my name is Lynne, and I have Quiet Brain. It's one of the first things I brought up in therapy when I started in 2012. I said that I worried that my lack of inner monologue made me uninteresting. I completely forget what my therapist said, so clearly, money well spent. I do think it's a blessing, since I don't suffer from anxiety or depression, but it's a curse because if there was SOME swirl, I could spontaneously recall something funny and share a story. I'm not a big storyteller.
I actually never believed in this at all I don’t understand how people do not have an inner monologue I still am skeptical of people who say that they don’t. Even when I’m watching something my attention isn’t solely on what I’m watching I’m always thinking about some thing else. And then before I go to sleep I think every possible thing that my brain lets me think good or bad or in between.
Oh, my brain is definitely chaos at all times. It feels like a middle school brass band.
