I hate that I now have to press "Start" THREE times before my ride begins. I appreciate the live session option, but, for those of us who primarily use on demand, it feels like too many steps until you start.
Some instructors love to tell the same story over and over again. For example, Robin (god love her!) can’t stop telling her engagement story. SHE WAS RUNNING A MARATHON AND JUST WANTED TO FINISH THE RACE, DREW! Or Kendall… Oh, Kendall. I swear, we all know three things to be true about Kendall. 1) She’s from California. 2) Her house growing up had a pool. 3) You could only get into the pool AFTER her mom played BELIEVE by Cher. The pool was officially open then. (Kendall, please stop playing Believe and while we’re at it… The Thong Song.)
I love all of the instructors but sometimes I’m just like, YEAH WE KNOW. WE ALL KNOW THIS STORY. I think when you have a community as committed as Peloton-ers, you have to assume they’re riding with you A LOT. No one is just dropping in for a ride every other month. (Well, maybe people are, but I’d say the majority of riders are pretty consistent?)
I make this point, because I just think they need to assume we know the stories already!
What are some other stories instructors LOVE to tell on repeat? We get some Ibiza mentions from Ben rather often… but it’s not annoying. It’s just… so Euro LOL. I’ll probably never tire of Cody’s stories about his younger days, — he also does a good job with variety.
By the way, did you know Kendall was from California?
Worst for me is "smooth like peanut butter, the affordable kind" - Ally Love (so cringe!)
Best for me is "It’s always a great day to have a great day" - Tunde (I have this on the wall opposite my bike!) but I also love everything that comes out of Cody's mouth.
I like to consider myself an equal opportunity peloton rider. I have my FAVS but try to mix in just about everyone. However, I was originally just not into Jenn Sherman and couldn’t even think about taking her classes. Then I saw a 60 min pop ride with an amazing playlist so I took it and I’ve completely done a 180 — I love her! she’s tough she doesn’t edit herself and she seems to really care and connect with the riders.
So I’m curious, who is someone you originally wrote off and have come around to? And what’s your pitch for them?
So happy for Peloton instructor Jess King and her partner Sophia: Jess announced today that she’s pregnant! She talked about how her fertility journey hadn’t been easy and thanks the Pelo community for being there for her 🥰
She announced it during her Live House Ride and in Instagram too https://www.instagram.com/tv/CdQ30cAtddy/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=
No due date was announced but I’ll be standing by for details!!! Jess is one of my faves. So happy for her ❤️
Cody is my favorite instructor and I would take every ride with him if I could. But I feel like he's always on vacation and his classes are less frequent. I feel like I go to look at new classes on demand and it's just poor Denis, workin his butt off trying to support the PeloFam with new content. Anyone else notice this?
If you love the Disney CHANNEL songs that Kendall sometimes peppers into her 2000s rides, then do I have good news for you. Callie Gullickson has come through with a 30 min bike bootcamp that will make you feel it's 2002 and there's a new DCOM every month. Just look at this playlist...
1) I Just Can't Wait To Be King (Lion King)
2) Bet On It (the highly underrated HSM2)
3) Nobody's Perfect (Hannah Montana)
4) Supernatural (Raven)
5) Be A Star (LIFE-SIZE OMFG)
6) Supernova Girl (ZENON Z3 REMIX BY THE ONE AND ONLY PROTA ZOA ARE YOU STILL STANDING?)
7) Amigas Cheetas (Cheetah Girls 2)
8) Ever Ever After (that song from Enchanted)
9) What Dreams Are Made Of (LIZZIE FREAKING MCGUIRE MOVIE, SING TO ME PAOLO)
10) Go The Distance (Hercules)
11) THIS IS ME FROM CAMP ROCK AND BY THE ONE AND ONLY DEMI LOVATO AND JOSEPH JONAS
I'll just give you the link now to bookmark, stack, IDFC what you do... just take it.
I love a lot of the instructors on Peloton, but there's something about Sam Yo that really just makes me so happy. I think it's his gentle smile... there will be a moment of silence and he'll just smile at you and you feel it deep in your soul. He's encouraging, pushes you, and never raises his voice above a whisper. I feel like he's not always seen as one of the MAIN instructors, but I urge everyone... give yourself a Yes Yo! His most recent Pop Ride is a great place to start!
Has anyone skipped a ride because the instructor continues to include songs/artists that you can’t stand? Curious.
Here I am, minding my own business, thinking I’m just clipping in to a 20 min pop ride. Until I realize it’s an entirely SHREK THEMED PLAYLIST.
WHAT THE SHREK!
Leave it to Kendall to remind us Shrek follows you EVERYWHERE. The funny thing is she doesn’t say it’s Shrek, idk if that’s just because of the rights? At least Shrek has one of the best soundtracks EVER.
