Well, I've caught up on this season of Billions and started watching Super Pumped and need to hand it to Bryan Koppelman (and the other brilliant folks who make these shows).
I'm hooked. Sucked in. And what impresses me is that my bar was so low. I saw the trailer for Super Pumped and just thought, "eh, another bad boy being an a hole story. pass." but oh no no no this series has it all. Thrill, drama, and honestly, lets the viewer decide for themselves how they feel about the rise of Uber and what the company did to create this service. Bravo. Also Joseph G.L. is phenomenal as always.
Billions this season was no different. With Damian Lewis off the show and Corey Stoll in the lead role, I didn't know what to expect. But oh boy I am loving it. Once again, Koppelman tells the stories of the ultra wealthy but lets the viewer decide how to feel. And that's some of the best way to make TV.
Prediction: Showtime gives him a bigger deal to keep making shows for them.
Guys, with Axe gone this season something just doesn't feel right. Like the writing and sharpness of the series is still there, but I feel like something is missing. Prince, played by the amazing Corey Stoll, clearly knows what he's doing, but the whole "I'm a nice guy" play is just not cutting it for me. I need ruthlessness. I need more. I miss Damian Lewis.
I will say that Paul G aka Chuck is still giving me what I need from this series. His quest for justice is amazing to watch, and separately, I'd love to get lunch with Paul G. at some point. Like a nice reuben sandwich would be so fun.
Anyway, I guess what I'm getting at is when will this show come in for a landing? I get that it's been a jewel in Showtime's cap, but I think it's time to wrap things up.
It is finally here, FINALLY. My favorite show Couples Therapy season 3 is coming back this Friday 5/13th (spooky)! I missed Dr. Orna Guralni soooo much, she is everything to me. I am also so excited to meet the new couples, and hear what they have going on! I was a huge fan of this original show on HBO "In Treatment" and this is just a real-life version of that.
