As a social media manager, I often pay close attention to the number of followers people have on Instagram, especially right before and shortly after an event that I suspect will cause someone’s follower count to skyrocket (think Bachelor season premiere or, in this case, the release of Inventing Anna on Netflix).
I checked in on Anna’s Instagram follower count during the weekend of the show’s release and she was sitting at 171k followers. Now, just ten days later, she’s hovering around 545k.
My question… are you following Anna on IG? Why? Why not?
The show did a great job of making me hate, then sympathize, then hate Rachel. I read an interview with the real Rachel and she didn’t do herself any favors, unfortunately. Doubled down every chance she could that she was the victim and Anna was the criminal. Which is true! But the delivery was off. I’m just torn when it comes to her and was SPOILER ALERT FOR THE FINALE surprised that the jury found Anna not guilty of defrauding Rachel.
So. If you were Rachel, would you go through it all again for $630k? I wouldn’t. This Netflix show makes her look terrible. Now… $5m? I would. But not less than that.
I’m trying to get into inventing Anna and it’s like watching paint dry. For such an interesting story and such an anticipated series I just can’t believe the best thing about it is the soundtrack and the actress who plays Neff. I’m halfway through episode two and I just feel like since the real Anna was involved with the show it was a huge mistake to do it from the journalists POV. I don’t care about her I don’t care about her personal life I don’t care about her career. I want the glitz the glam and the scam.
It’s not giving what needs to be gave. They shouldve did one episode from the viewpoint of every main character in Anna’s life or just from Anna’s viewpoint. I know that I’m so interested in seeing how this plays out that I have no self respect and will see it through even though I’ve hated the last 90 minutes. So if it manages to change my mind I will definitely be back to eat my words because one thing about me I can own being a flip flopper.
