NYT Wordle feels different...
Anyone else notice that Wordle, now that NYTimes has taken over, feels different now? I don't know if it is the word selections, the change in color... or the commodification of something that was once so pure. Or it could just be the moment in time all of our interest shifts from the one thing we were obsessed about for a while. Whatever it is I am not _ _ _ _ _ about it. (C R A Z Y)

I have insight. My friend works at NYT Games, and I reached out bc my husband and I had DIFFERENT words today. Then I found out my boss and her bf had different words today too.
It seems that for some people, the redirect to the NYT game hasn’t kicked in… so they’re still stuck on the original game. Could be a bug in the code. Anyway, if you’re not in the NYT font and games interface, give it a refresh. If your word today was AGORA, try a refresh
As for it being harder, that’s just luck.
It's the linguistic imperialism of the NYT that gives you that feeling, I think. Wordle was fun when it was independent, just a fun little game that everyone could get behind. Now that it's owned by the NYT, it's gone through a brand transformation and gives a corporate feel that is the antithesis of its original purpose.
I am on a very exclusive list of people who have never played Words with Friends or Wordle. I am glad that this has given some people joy in the meantime though
I didn't love that two days in a row started with "U." (Ulcer than Ultra.) Original app would never!
Has it gotten harder? Cynic nearly got me.
