I hate when coworkers ask "what's for lunch today?"
I'm not sure if it's just me but my lunch breaks are my time to gather my thoughts and have moments of peace with whatever food I decide to eat for the day.. Every now and then there is nothing wrong with eating lunch with a coworker but let's not make a habit of it! This will stress me out because you're not sure what you want and I have no time to sit and wait for you to decide... It honestly drives me nuts!! Usually when it's time for my lunch break I just run outside to avoid everyone and any possibility of someone asking me this question. You have to protect your peace at any means necessary.
Do y'all find this annoying? If so how do you handle it?

OMG I'm glad I'm not the only one. I don't want anyone to talk to me during my lunch either lol. Lunch is supposed to be your break during the workday to unwind a little bit and not worry about anything. Don't talk to me, don't look at me, don't even think about me. I just started going out to my car to eat my lunch because I don't want to be bothered. Is that bad lol??
Bwahahaha like mind your business Carol idgaf what you eat I’m trying to figure out what I’m going to eat
I think if someone asks this just say "i'm just gonna go get XYZ." Doesn't have to be an ordeal if you don't treat it as one! And you certainly don't have to get lunch with people if you don't want to.
Aaron, I could not agree more. I will add that whenever it is time for lunch, I've gotten to the point of Hangry, and I WILL snap if someone, even if they're well meaning, delays my lunch.
Office chatter in general is just the worst. None of us actually wanna be here, we don't have to fill the silence with mindless chitchat!
I once had a co-worker that carefully inspected everyone's lunch and asked them about it. It was wild. I just can't imagine caring that much.
