And Just Like That (We're Coming Back)
Yesterday something seismic happened - HBO Max officially announced the return of And Just Like That for a second season. Yes, that means you are getting even more episodes of Shortcomings, but it also means the return of Seema Patel, LTW, and Dr. Naya Wallace. As much as I love our original girlies, when I think about AJLT I think about our new friends. A lot of that has to do with the actresses -Sarita Choudhury, Nicole Ari Parker, and Karen Pittman brought such depth to the show. And frankly a lot of warmth. They felt like stabilizing forces in a whole lot of crazy.
The main thing I want from the second season is more of our new friends - maybe they expand the show to 13 episodes and give each new girl a dedicated episode, because clearly we have to stay with our girls and follow them. But these characters and these performers deserve more and I want more.
Oh and yes, I am craving me some Che also. But I think I'd like Sarah Drew (April from Grey's) to take over the role. And then the next season another Grey's cast off can play Che. It'd be wild and I love it.
What do you want from AJLT? And please don't say nothing!
I'd love some positivity -- last season was really heavy and not very funny. I wanna giggle with the gals again! Now that Big's death is behind us, I hope that season 2 will be a little more lighthearted
I want Miranda to get dumped and have to deal with a) the realization of just HOW much she changed her life over a fling, and b) being single, without Steve as a back-up plan.
And I want Steve to have a redemption arc. Bring back Debbie, or introduce a new love interest that appreciates Steve for who he is.
I agree. I would be happy if they phased out all the OGs entirely, to be honest (except use Carrie's podcast as a voiceover for the new women's journeys — I feel like I still need Carrie's voice to feel soothed).
A rotating Grey's Che is so meta, and I love it. Let Patrick Dempsey come in too and give it a whirl.
