Listen as long as this show ended with Beth and Randall together I didn’t really care about any other couple. But now that we know our favorites are safe, I am intrigued as to who Kevin is going to end up with. I don’t want it to be Madison because she’s clearly happy and him and Sophie have not figured it out after all this time so they should definitely not be together. I really like him as friends with the lady he was introduced to by Nicky but nothing else. Seeing how Kate and Toby unfolded was interesting. Now we need to see Kevin’s romantic ending. I know there are theories but I’m still not convinced
I know that the writer said that they were being two deaths this season. One obviously being Rebecca. When I found out the other was going to be Miguel nothing to prepare me for what happened last night on the show. I knew from the wedding episodes that he had his own health issues but never would’ve thought that he would’ve passed away before Rebecca.
I know that Randall found some of Miguel‘s pills at the wedding and he said that they were for high blood pressure but clearly we saw that it was more than just that. Miguel had shortness of breath which points to pulmonary hypertension or some sort of lung illness. By last episode, Miguel had full on heart disease at some point and was still taking great care of Rebecca. He also fell while taking care of his wife and bruised BADLY. He may have had some sort of blood clotting disorder where he was on blood thinners that caused him to bruise easily. This was heartbreaking.
I honestly did not expect Miguel to pass first. His story was beautifully told when he went from Jacks friend who married Rebecca to Rebecca’s second great love.
Mandy Moore has stated that when she read the script for next week’s episode, she was so emotionally distraught that she THREW UP.
I’m a masochist that loves to cry, so I’ve been excited for this episode ever since. Am I alone in this?
When I saw that This Is Us was bringing Milo Ventimiglia and Mandy Moore together, it took me back to when those two were so prominent in pop culture during my childhood. This is for those who are both fans of This Is Us and Gilmore Girls. Especially if you are Team Jess. Now that This Is Us is wrapping up the series I wanted to point out the references that TIU made to GG.
- Second season, Tobey makes a joke at a party where he says "I'm still going to be at this party trying to bang a Gilmore Girl," then Kate says "Go for both," and Toby says "The Gilmore the Gil-merrier,"
- Actually in last week’s episode where it’s revealed that Kevin kept the Valentine that Sophie gave him when they were children in his wallet, it’s similar to when Lorelai wrote a fake horoscope that she gave Luke he kept for eight years in his wallet and was revealed on their first real date.
- Usually when you look up Jess online you see him in the classic jean jacket, in some of the most important flashbacks on This Is Us Jack Pearson is wearing a jean jacket.
It just feels like Jack is just an older version of Jess in This Is Us. He is extremely smart, he appreciates the classics, he is protective but the This Is Us version of Jess is one who grew up to be a hard worker — something Jess could’ve worked on in GG
Anyways that’s just off the top of my head
