Tayshia Opens Up About Zac Breakup On 'The Men Tell All'

As all Bachelorette fans know, the Men Tell All special is, primarily, a chance for the villains of the season to be loudly confronted by guys who barely got any screentime. But, on the special for Michelle Young's season, viewers got a Bachelorette update that wasn't about this season's lead. On Monday night's episode, Tayshia Adams opened up about her breakup from Zac Clark, the winner of her season, for the first time.

After returning from a commercial break, Tayshia's co-host and fellow former Bachelorette Kaitlyn Bristowe said that before the next hot seat interview, "Tayshia I want to talk to you about something." She continued, "You're not wearing your engagement ring. So, can you tell us what’s going on in your relationship with Zac?"

Tayshia responded, clearly choked up, "All I have to say is that I’m heartbroken, but we tried really hard, and I still love him very much. And I’m not sure what the future holds. I mean, you know how it is, it’s really tough."

Kaitlyn, who previously broke off her engagement from her Bachelorette winner, Shawn Booth, replied, "I, sadly, do know how it is. It's really hard. But we're here for you and obviously want you to be happy."

At this point, they moved on and introduced Rodney Mathews for his interview and when he reached his seat, Tayshia could be seen taking deep breaths and trying to gain her composure. Suddenly, she walked off stage. "We’re going to let Tayshia have a minute," Kaitlyn said and moved on with the show solo. After another commercial break, Tayshia rejoined Kaitlyn for the next segment.

A rep confirmed to Us Weekly on November 22 that Zac and Tayshia had broken up. Around this time, the publication reports that Tayshia also "liked" an Instagram post that read, "Finally, I realized that I was never asking for too much. I was just asking the wrong person."

Tayshia and Zac had been engaged for a little over a year. He proposed at the end of her season of The Bachelorette, which filmed in the summer of 2020 and aired last fall.

As the host of The Bachelorette, Tayshia must have known the conversation on the Men Tell All was coming, but she was obviously still very emotional about the breakup. And there's a good reason for that: According to Reality Steve, the Men Tell All filmed the same day the split news went public, November 22. Oof. To use Tayshia's own words that is definitely "really tough."
