Greg Grippo is the clear frontrunner of The Bachelorette. I can see it, Katie can see it, and even the other men can see it. Not only did Greg get the first impression rose, but he also got the first one-on-one date. (And fireworks. That shit is expensive.) But before any of us put a downpayment on the wedding venue, we have to stop and ask ourselves a serious question: Should Greg win The Bachelorette, or is he just tall with a degree in gender studies.
Let's get down to logistics. Greg Grippo, Bachelorette contestant extraordinaire, stands tall at 6 feet 3 inches. That's 75 whole inches (or 190.5 centimeters if you use the metric system). Those numbers are also official, according to the Saint Michael's College basketball site. Even if he's adding a vanity inch or two for ego or was measured with his sneaks on, that's still a lot to work with.
And quite frankly, a height like that would usually be enough. A tall man cannot go unnoticed in These Times. But, reader, THERE'S MORE. While spending some time on his basketball stats (a girl can never be too prepared), I noticed something else...
Greg has a degree in gender studies.
According to Saint Michael's, Greg got a degree in business and a minor in gender studies while studying at the Vermont college. So this is not only a tall man, but it's a tall man who is self-aware enough to dedicate a portion of his education to learning about the intersectionality of gender, race, politics, and sexuality.
You know who I can guarantee didn't get a minor in gender studies? Cody, the guy who got sent home during the second group date without a flicker of emotion in his eye.
So to just take stock of the great things Greg is working with:
- Greg is tall
- Greg has studied gender representation and identity
- Greg is emotionally vulnerable
- Greg has great hair
- Greg loves his nieces and nephews
- Greg respects macaroni
- Greg watches rom-coms
- Greg watches rom-coms with his dog
- Greg says he fishes yet has zero fishing pictures on his Instagram
Need I say more? To answer my original question I posed in the headine: both. Greg can be tall, have a degree in gender studies, and win The Bachelorette. Sorry to all the other men... including Catman Connor.
