Going in to the Bachelor finale, we didn't know whether Clayton would end up with Gabby, Rachel, Susie, or no one — no one was the best bet, obviously — but we did know that he would probably screw up at least one more breakup on his way out. And, yep, that's exactly what happened. After Clayton decided that he loves Susie and wasn't actually in love with Rachel and Gabby, he broke up with them. Together. While they were in the same hotel room. A bad move from the guy who just screwed up in the exact same way during the Rose Ceremony From Hell.
In response to Clayton revealing that he wasn't in love with three women and is in love with the woman who ended things with him, Gabby first said she had nothing to say and returned to her own hotel room. That itself was a power move. But, Clayton followed her — leaving Rachel who was still sitting there crying! — and she launched into a perfect breakup speech that pointed out all of the many, amny things Clayton did wrong.
"I actually don’t know who you are at all," she began. "And I'm pissed, because I spent the last two days away from my family and my friends who actually give a shit about me and you don’t ... I can't believe anything you say, not one thing. You asked me to stay because you were pissed and your pride was hurt because Susie left."
Gabby then questioned why Clayton fought for herself and Rachel to stay, called him out for keeping them hanging on for two days while he sorted out his feelings, and pointed out how awful it was that he twice delivered devastating news to them as a pair, instead of as individuals. Pointing out the difference between letting her go two days ago and now, Gabby said, "One time it was going to be my decision, which you didn't want it to be, and now it's your decision so it's easier."
At the end of their conversation, Clayton apologized and delivered the classic Bachelor line, "Am I able to walk you out?" Gabby responded, "No," as if that should already be abundantly obvious to him with a disgusted look on her face. Hell. Yes. Gabby.
As a bonus to all of this, Gabby's scene-stealing grandfather from her hometown date was in the audience for the live portion of the show, and we got to see clips of him being proud of Gabby in the corner of the screen. As he should be! Has anyone handled heartbreak so well on this show? She absolutely killed it.
