First off, a big ol' SPOILER alert here, if you have not finished Stranger Things.

Okay, so, we were all pretty sure Eddie was a goner this season. He basically had the equivalent of the "one day from retirement" speech at the beginning with his graduation monologue, and also had the "running away" story arc. But the way that he died? Completely unsatisfying. For one, it seemed pointless — sure, it might have bought some time, but Hopper's work in Russia killed those bats before they would have been able to hurt Nancy, Steve, and Robin anyway. (And, he probably could have still outrun the bats for a little longer — it's not not brave to be a diversion, instead of a sacrificial lamb.) And then there's the fact that he wasn't at all redeemed — in fact, the only person who saw him be a "hero" was Dustin, who already respects him anyway. Will the town ever be able to see his true colors, or will they blame him for the murders in perpetuity?

Not to mention... did they just leave him in the Upside-Down? And why was everyone so happy two days after the fact, when one of their friends who they spent the entire season saving had died?

Don't get me wrong — I LOVED this season, so much. But I feel like they killed Eddie just to kill off a likable character, rather than for any real storyline reasons.
