What's the funniest mistake your parents did while trying to be a good parent?
My dad worked a lot so we'd watch movies on the weekend to hangout. My dad saw deliverance was on tv and only remembered liking it. Then came the "Squeal like a pig scene"... I was 12. I can still remember the literal face palm he made
In that vein my mom also still thinks Good Fellas is a comedy. She's easily seen it 3 times

THIS EXACT SAME THING HAPPENED TO ME TOO! I feel like there must be another movie from the 70s about camping that's super fun and jolly, and dads are just confusing the two. I can't believe this happened to someone else!
LOL I too was too young to see Deliverance. Any time I hear a banjo, I'm triggered.
I think my parents relied on ice cream as a way to fix a disappointment. Like, when I didn't get the role I wanted in the school play, or if I had a bad basketball game, we'd go get ice cream. I feel like now I go get ice cream when I hit a roadblock, which isn't the healthiest habit!
