Jax Taylor’s “Family-Oriented” TV Show Plans Should Rawt In Hell

Don't threaten us with a good time, or a Jax Taylor reality TV comeback. (But, like, seriously, don't do it, Jax.) The former Vanderpump Rules star and new dad has, unfortunately, done just that in a recent episode of the Daddy Issues podcast. In the interview, Jax hinted at a return to reality TV for both him and wife Brittany Cartwright. And we must all suffer the consequences.

"We're not walking away from TV," he said in an interview recorded prior to the birth of his son. "We're just going to move on to something more family-oriented." Yes, Jax, the man who gaslit every girlfriend on Pump Rules, would like to do a "family-oriented" TV show. And if you know Jax's current laundry list of controversies, you know this might not be an easy sell.

In December of 2020, Jax was reportedly fired from Vanderpump Rules after eight seasons of toxic behavior towards the rest of the cast. He also came under fire for asking a pastor with a history of homophobic and transphobic rhetoric to officiate his wedding — a scandal that played both on and off screen. And did I mention he was also reportedly hit with a $1.2 million bill from the IRS for overdue taxes?

To be fair to Jax's new reality TV show dream, he is a family man now. He and Brittany welcomed their first child together, Cruz Michael Cauchi, on Monday, April 12, and have been together since 2015 (though they split briefly in 2017 after Jax cheated on her with their Vanderpump Rules co-star Faith Stowers). "I'm 40. I'm gonna be a father. My focus is on that," he told Daddy Issues.

The new parents have reportedly been plotting a reality TV show comeback ever since they left the Bravo hit show. In December just days after his firing was announced, a source confirmed to E! News that Jax and Brittany were already pitching new reality shows "based on their new phase of life becoming parents."

It's truly hard to say whether or not fans would actually want to watch a Jax and Brittany family reality show. It's hard to even imagine how Jax, who fans watched gaslight his girlfriend and body-shame every woman in sight, could go about rebranding himself as a family man. Then again, maybe he's comfortable being a TV villain for life? Who am I to stand in the way of his wish?
