- Real Housewives of Beverly Hills -Erika & Tom Girardi Land A New Show — A Legal Documentary Called 'The Housewife & The Hustler'
No television show is big enough to contain the Erika Jayne/Girardi and Tom Girardi drama — not even The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. So, despite being open about her recent divorce and legal troubles on Bravo, Erika is now finding herself at the center of a very different kind of reality show. A new documentary called The Housewife & The Hustler is set to dissect the allegations against Erika and her husband and it looks juicy and XXPEN$IVE and Danielle Staub is going to be involved for some reason.
ABC News released a teaser for the special on Wednesday, June 2, juxtaposing clips of Erika performing and posing for paparazzi with Fergie's "Glamorous." There's even a tongue in cheek narration — "There once was a Housewife who married a Hustler." The entire promo can really only be described as giving off a mid-to-late 2000s VH1/E! vibe. Heather McDonald (of Chelsey Lately fame) is even a talking head in the special.
Putting aside the fact that this TV special really feels like it was made at least a decade ago, it is fascinating. Erika and Girardi's fall from extravagant reality TV power couple to broke alleged embezzlers deserves more than casual references and cryptic confessionals on RHOBH.
The ABC News Original will feature interviews with legal experts, commentators, alleged victims, formerly mentioned Danielle Staub and Dana "$25,000" Wilkey, and comedians. And it's all in the hopes of shedding light on the embezzlement charges, allegations that Erika and Girardi are faking their divorce to hide assets from plaintiffs, the increasingly tense divorce proceedings, and, of course, the big question: did Erika know what her husband was allegedly doing to fund their luxury lifestyle?
The Housewife & The Hustler will premiere on Hulu June 14. But, in the meantime, you can watch Erika on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Wednesdays at 8 p.m. on Bravo.
The Dipp reached out to Erika's representatives for a statement and did not hear back in time for publication.
