Cheers is pretty cringe. It's giving that short period of time Lindsay Lohan had an english accent. Pass. 

I always just sign off with a Thanks! Easy and non-intrusive. 

I used to use cheers, and then noticed that literally no one else did. I switched to best, but I hate myself using it. I can’t believe we still haven’t figured out a way to do this and not feel extraordinarily awkward. 

“Thanks” is probably the best bet, but that’s assuming you asked for something. Oh god, this is crippling. What do we do??

Gotta adapt to the situation! There's no one-size-fits-all signature! "Thanks" for requests, "Hope all's well"  for check-ins, or just "-[name]" for most everything else. 

I always just use "best". It's standard, I'm not trying to prove anything, only looking for a way out of here. 

I think "thanks" is also okay but never never use "cheers". Oh, are we at a party? Do we go out together and clink glasses? No. Because you are emailing with Rob from accounting, not your friend. So don't make it weird. 

I always use “Thanks!”, unless I’m annoyed or frustrated, then I change the exclamation point to a comma. If I’m really frustrated then it’s just my name. I know it’s weird.

One I’ve started using a lot more with work requests is signing off with “Thanks in advance for your help with this!” and I think that garners more prompt responses and teamwork. I’m also trying to convey that I appreciate their time in helping me (not sure if it works but that’s my intent).

Probably old fashioned, but I always use Regards, or Warm Regards…Best annoys me so much.
