All eyes are on WandaVision as Disney+ wraps up its first season. And, as the clock ticks closer to March 5 — aka, finale day — director Matt Shakman has been doing a full on media blitz, dropping hints about the final episode everywhere. He's been careful not to give too much away, but, there are a few major hints the WandaVision director has dropped about the finale that fans should pay extra attention to.
As the finale approaches, Shakman, who directed all nine episodes of the series, has been clear that not all WandaVision questions will be answered by the end of the episode. "I know there are many theories out there; there will be a lot of people who will no doubt be disappointed by one theory or another," he cautioned in an interview with Entertainment Weekly ahead of the finale, something he reiterated while speaking to TVLine. "You can't please everybody, obviously. But I hope folks enjoy the ride," he told the site.
In his interviews, Shakman has been careful not to reveal too much, but his teases and musings might actually give away more than meets the eye. After reading a handful of interviews, here are my main takeaways for what might happen in the WandaVision finale.
Wanda & Agatha Might Team Up
"I think both Agatha and Wanda can learn from each other," Shakman told TVLine, suggesting that even though Episode 8 ended with Agatha choking Wanda's twins with her magical powers, they could find common ground before it's all over. In the comics, Agatha acts as a magical mentor for Wanda, and while I'm not sure they can go down that route after everything that's happened in WandaVision, it seems perfectly logical for them to team up against the threat of S.W.O.R.D. and the White Vision teased in the mid-credits scene of Episode 8. Nothing unites like a common enemy, especially one with crazy superpowers.
