One of the greatest costume chameleons of our time once said, "When I get a costume, it's a head-to-to transformation, I give myself a name, a backstory..." That person is, of course, Vanderpump Rules star, Tom Sandoval.
Tom Sandoval loves a costume. He loves a transformation. He's made it into an art on Vanderpump Rules. And for that, we thank him. Need to take the edge off of a rather tense Bachelor/Bachelorette party? Throw on a costume. Want to one-up the guests of honor at a birthday party? Pick up some white contacts and a metal headpiece.
Sandoval is multi-hyphenate... a bar owning-man who loves to crush shit with bulldozers, master of disguise. Don't believe me? I present Exhibits A through O for your consideration.
Lisa's Angel (Season 2, Episode 6)
While Jax and Peter were also shirtless and wearing wings, Tom's white pants gave this look a certain je ne sais quoi.
Greaser (Season 3, 18)
Sandoval has truly never looked better than this James Dean moment.
Chip Harley (Season 4, Episode 1)
His most intricate character to date. Watching Tom and Tom be, well, Tom and Tom, is super endearing in this episode.
Sci-Fi Fighter (Season 5, Episode 14)
While Tom didn't create this character himself, I was pretty impressed with the scale of the production.
Jen Rod (Season 5, Episode 16)
Jen is "a good girl... in a bad way."
General George Washington's Gay Friend (Season 6, Episode 1)
He even pulled out the cane for this one.
Trumpet Player (Season 6, Episode 6)
What? Not a costume? I barely recognize him.
Vampire Maleficent (Season 6, Episode 10)
Is this Maleficent? Who can say, but that collar!
'80s Aerobics Instructor (Season 7, Episode 2)
It's the kick for me.
Knight King (Season 7, Episode 5)
The two Ice Queens, or better known as Stassi and Ariana, finally team up for an epic birthday party in this episode. And while they were the guests of honor, that didn't stop Tom from going all out and — possibly — one-upping them.
Mullet King (Season 7, Episode 7)
Is it a '70s rollerskating party or another day for Sandoval to whip out his wig collection?
Tom Tom Twinning (Season 7, Episode 16)
If I ever open up a bar, you better believe I'm arriving in style while sitting sidecar to Sandoval.
Maurice (Season 8, Episode 5)
In honor of Jax aging rapidly, we met Maurice last season. And boy, did he not disappoint.
Stilts (Season 8, Episode 12)
Tom had a very fitting "extra"-themed party and decided to wear stilts. Meanwhile, Jax couldn't be bothered to dress up.
The King of Costumes (Season 8, Episode 15)
The most Tom Schwartz thing to ever happen was to lose his marriage license and not actually be married. So of course, Tom Sandoval dressed up as The King to marry them.
Season 9 is bound to be a lot different with tons of the cast not coming back. But thankfully for us, Tom and his looks will be there. Can't wait to see what he comes up with next.
While a good portion of the Vanderpump Rules cast will not returning to Season 9, something tells me Sandoval and his many characters and costumes will fill the empty space.
