Tuesday night, we got to see a rare side of a one Raquel Leviss. A relatable side. We normally see her wide-eyed and bushy-tailed, bouncing around and corralling James Kennedy before he unleashes his venom on his cast mates, but in the third episode of Vanderpump Rules Season 9, we witnessed Raquel, 27, open up about her anxieties and insecurities. It actually was pretty poignant, considering her journey on the show has been, up until now, very one-dimensional.

We first met Raquel when she and James started dating in Season 5, after his incredibly toxic, and tumultuous relationship with Kristen Doute finally and mercifully came to an end.

Raquel, as a former pageant girl, has always come off as soft spoken, and she's usually the butt of the joke. Lala Kent has referred to her as a "Bambi-eyed bitch," Kristen and Jax Taylor have called her dumb more than once, even shouting it at her across the stage at the Season 7 reunion. Raquel is an easy target; the cast pokes fun at the way she dresses and how she speaks, and they all think she enables James' bad behavior just because she doesn't address his shortcomings the way they think she should.

At the Season 7 reunion, Raquel tried her hardest to speak up and explain why she comes off the way she does. She told the group that she was beauty queen, and well, they all laughed at her. You could hear her voice about to crack and you could feel her nerves through the screen. She then revealed that she suffers from social anxiety, and she started doing pageants to overcome it, and the room just erupted and she closed back up, and sank into her seat. It was hard to watch then and it's hard to watch now, especially after Tuesday's episode.
