It’s hard to believe it's almost coming to an end. The Season 5 This Is Us finale is just weeks away — which leaves just one more season of the NBC show. (ICYMI, series creator and showrunner Dan Fogelman has been pretty open about his plans to end the show after Season 6.)
Any This Is Us fan will tell you what an emotional ride it’s been, but, it’s not over just yet: According to executive producer and frequent director Ken Olin, there’s still plenty of relationships — both new and old — to be explored.
I last spoke to Olin after the premiere of Season 5, Episode 8 (“In The Room”), which he directed. Following the debut of Season 5, Episode 11 (“One Small Step...), which explored Uncle Nicky’s (Griffin Dunne) backstory, I reconnected with Olin to get the scoop on what to expect in the second half of the season.
Spoiler alert: It looks like there’s some trouble for both Kate and Toby and Kevin and Madison — plus some tension rising with Beth and Randall.
Read on for a first look at what lies ahead.
The Dipp: How long will Uncle Nicky be back in the picture?
Ken Olin: He should be around for a little bit. I'm not sure I'm supposed to talk more about it than that. He's definitely going to make an impression. He's going to be around for a little while.
