Did Pardeep Just Secure Himself The Fan Favorite On 'The Bachelorette'?

He's a neuroscientist. He's a podcaster. He's a video game enthusiast. He's a self-proclaimed nerd. You know what Pardeep on The Bachelorette is not? A basketball player. And we love him for that, but damn did the show do Pardeep dirty during the group date on Tuesday night.

While not on the court, Pardeep is researching diseases like Parkinson's and Alzheimer's. So excuse me for giving him a pass (...) on not knowing how to catch a pass (see what I did there?). I respect the sport of basketball and sure, for some, ball is life. But as the love interest in What A Girl Wants says, "Why are you trying so hard to fit in when you were born to stand out?" Some could say in a sea of men who know how to play basketball, Pardeep is the real star for being, quite frankly, horrible at it. As momentary Bachelorette sports announcer Blake Arthur says, "He couldn't hit water if he fell out of a boat."

But embarrassing yourself on a group date is actually a precursor to a franchise favorite, so perhaps this is a good move for Pardeep. During JoJo's season of The Bachelorette, Wells Adams almost passed the f*ck out while playing firefighter during a group date, and look at where he is now! Making drinks for the messy contestants of Bachelor in Paradise!

There's always a contestant on every season who gets minimal screen time and somehow finds their way into the hearts of Bachelor Nation, and this time around it seems to be Pardeep. Will he prove to be the unproblematic, drama-free contestant everyone latches on to and inevitably mourns when he's eliminated during a mass exodus rose ceremony? Time will tell.
