I think the whole premise of Bachelor and the way it is produced just is so outdated and people want more. They want people who are more complex (not the women of the Bachelor arent, but they don't show their real personalities). And in these times, I think people are looking to relate to the people they watch rather than watching 22-year-old 2nd-grade teacher/yoga teachers fall in love with a man in 4 days. 

While I totally agree that the bachelor is dead, I wonder how many seasons LIB can do before the gimmick gets old? Can they even go a 3rd season without changing anything up?

One major issue for me with the Bach is that the episodes are sooooo long! They do not need to be two hours. They water down the leads personality (a la Matt James), they focus way too much on "in the house" drama.

Love is Blind, however, is also entirely too long. I fast forwarded A LOT.

The Bachelor needs to look at itself in the mirror, take it all in, and figure out how to come out better. 

These past few seasons have been so flawed, and they haven’t even taken a break to breathe a little bit. There’s something to leaving people wanting… hell, we waited TWO YEARS for Love Is Blind 2.

Make the show an event again. Make it something that feels rarer and sillier. And, like, be good. 

Omg, I noticed the exact same thing! I think we're dealing with a few different factors here:

1) Bachelor over-saturation. I'm a huge Bach fan, and I only caught a few eps of Clayton's season. I just could not get invested after BiP, for some reason — it just felt like the Bachelor season should have been over. 

2) Love is Blind is MUCH more global — in the same way Love Is Blind Brazil is available for us to watch, the US version is overseas too. Much more opportunity for large numbers. 

I will die on the hill that The Bachelor died as soon as they removed Chris Harrison. Bachelor was at its prime with the Hannah's, Dylan, Tyler Cameron, etc. in my opinion and it started to go downhill very quickly after. I used to be really into but haven't watched it since they took Harrison off. 

No one is relatable, unfortunately. They also do a terrible job of helping us to get the know the girls/guys at all so then there is no feeling of 'oh I have to follow this person because I feel like I know them'. Go Deepti!! 1Mil thats huge! What a queen.

I honestly stopped watching for 3 reasons:

1. Like Kate said, they never take a break. Was I sad that Bachelor Nation took a break after August until the new year every year? Yes. But I was SO pumped when they came back.

2. The contestants used to be super desirable - good jobs and good looking - people you wanted to be. Now it’s all influencer wannabes.

3. Asking me to commit to two evenings a week, 2 hours both nights, to keep up. Only on Mondays was fine, but after that it got excessive.

Just doing some light research on the girlies from Clayton's season. Let's just take a look at their follower count now that the season has wrapped...

Now... let's look at the cast from Netflix's Love Is Blind.
