Read Nayte's "Two Suits" 'Bachelorette' Speech That Changed Everything For Michelle

This entire season of The Bachelorette, Nayte seemed very confident in every way possible. He was confident in his relationship with Michelle. He was confident in his interactions with the other guys. He even had to face rumors that he was walking around saying he "had it in the bag," which was believable because of how confident he is. But, confidence will only get you so far (the final two). Eventually (the last episode), you have to also show vulnerability and express emotions that prove you'll make a good husband and not just a good guy to makeout with in front of a bunch of cameras.

So, even though Michelle had Brandon, who was possibly the most effusive person this series has ever seen, by the finale episode, she was still waiting on Nayte to express his commitment toward her. Of course, he only needed to express this once and that'd be enough to figure he'd make a fantastic and loyal life partner. This show is on a tight deadline!

Lucky for him — and for Michelle — Nayte found a great way to do this: his "two suits" speech.

During their final date, Michelle told Nayte that she felt "uneasy" after he met her family because they had concerns about how ready he was for a serious relationship. Michelle explained that her family wants her to be with someone who is ready to commit and who will take care of her. With this, Nayte launched into a monologue that brought a smile to Michelle's face and solidified his final rose status:

"And that’s the truth. That's how I feel about you when I look at you in your eyes. You're somebody that I want to be next to. You know, ups, downs, I want to get over fights with you. I want to just do the real world with you. That's where my heart is at. So, the potential side of me losing you as soon as later this week... I told your mom it sucks. I know that’s not a profound way to explains yourself, but it would suck.
I never told you this: I came here with two suits. Still to this day, I only have two suits. I don’t know what I was expecting, but I was like, 'What are the chances that you are actually going to make it to the end?' And here I am at the end, madly in love with you, wanting to spend the rest of my life with you, and it is terrifying, because this really could be it for me. I could start the rest of my life with you and be the happiest guy in the world. I’m scared as hell. I don’t think I’ve expressed that to you once this entire time. When all you do is think about life with somebody and the chance that that could get ripped away later this week? Heartbreak."

And scene.

Not really. Obviously, Michelle — who could barely contain her excitement — replied, "This is what I’ve wanted" and explained that she wants to be with someone who expresses their feelings and fears, so that she feels free to express hers, as well.

Is this how you clinch the finals?
