Bachelors & Bachelorettes: Please Stop Pretending You're Huge Fans Of The Musical Guests

Katie Thurston hit another Bachelorette milestone this week: her very first musical guest! And, unlike with all those previous Bach musical performances — you know, the ones that leave us all asking, "WHO?" — Katie and Blake want you to know that they are very real fans of Laine Hardy. Like, really for real.

"Making memories with @thelainehardy and #memorizeyou — thank you," Blake wrote in an Instagram post Wednesday, July 7. "Give it a full listen, these lyrics hit!" (Way to convince us you've listened to the entire song, Blake!) Katie, on the other hand, did not post on her regular feed (hmm), but she did offer her support to Hardy on his Instagram. After Hardy shared an official photo from his time on The Bachelorette with Katie, she commented, "To this day, I still love this song! Thank you for taking the time to come to NM [New Mexico] and perform. Such a beautiful song!" (LOL, Katie, this happened like three months ago. So glad your love of this song has lasted... 60 days.)

It's all very nice and polite, but are Katie and Blake really fans of Laine Hardy? Or is it all just for show, like all the unknown singer-songwriters that have come on The Bachelor before. Or maybe a stunt, like when producers got alleged famous musician Chase Rice to perform for Bachelor Peter and Victoria F because she had previously dated him. Well, based on Instagram alone, it looks like Blake and Katie could be fans of Laine Hardy. They both follow the musician on Instagram — though he only follows Katie back.
