How To Predict The Winner Of 'The Bachelorette' By The First Commercial Break

Attempting to predict who will win The Bachelorette on Night 1 is a tradition as old as the average Bachelor contestant. Some fans use their guts, others use spoilers, and then there's the detective looking for context clues. Bach producers may love to fuck with us, but there are actually a few pretty dependable tells that can signal who will make it to the final rose ceremony, and these things to look out for on Night 1 of The Bachelorette could actually predict the entire season.

We all know to look out for who gets the first impression rose. Then there's who gets the first kiss — which will often coincide with the first impression rose — or who gets the first one-on-one date — which isn't actually always as indicative of the winner as we might think. But, after doing a little non-scientific studying of my own, I've found something else to look out for that might reveal the winner of the final rose before the first commercial break: the "coming up" tease.

"Coming Up"

In researching for this story, I decided to do a little study: I picked four of the seven Bachelor and Bachelorette seasons on Hulu, and checked out the season premieres to see what their season winners might have in common. And lo and behold, I found it: the "coming up" preview.
