Gabby may be new to Bachelor Nation as a contestant on Clayton Echard's season of The Bachelor. But she's already well-versed in dipping into the Bachelor Nation dating pool. Before dating Clayton, Gabby dated two people from Bachelor Nation — Dean Unglert and Blake Horstmann. But there are some major caveats to that: 1. She dated them before either of them were on The Bachelorette and 2. Her relationship with Blake (if you can even call it that) was far from serious.

Gabby, the ICU nurse and Broncos cheerleader, is from Colorado and Dean was her college boyfriend. As she explained on the Bachelor Nation podcast Talking It Out, "I dated Dean over 10 years ago. I think we were like 18, 19... so maybe 12 years ago now, in college. He's one of my first loves."

Dean — who first was on Rachel Lindsay's Bachelorette season and then went on to Bachelor in Paradise, Winter Games, and Paradise again — confirmed that their relationship was significant when they were younger in an October 2021 episode on his podcast, Help! I Suck at Dating. "She was probably the second love of my life, if you will," he said, noting they dated for about a year to a year-and-a-half in college.

By both of their accounts, they've remained friendly. "We both are really supportive of each other," Gabby said on Talking It Out. "He knew I always wanted to be a dancer, so he was really supportive of my career as a Broncos cheerleader. He's a huge Broncos fan, so very like kind of like surface-level, 'I support you, you support me, no hard feelings.'" On his podcast, Dean mentioned how they each had reached out to one another once they were cast on the shows.
