Premium- Succession -Logan & Ewan Roy Are Basically The Dumbledore Brothers, So Does That Make Greg Harry Potter?
When it comes to the Roy family on Succession, comparisons to the Murdochs inevitably arise. But when looking at the OG Roys — Logan, Ewan, and even Rose Roy — their relationship gives off vibes of another influential family... that of the wizarding variety. Apologies in advance for giving the author of Harry Potter, She-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named, more space on the internet. But there's some serious (or, Sirius) parallels between the Roy brothers and the Dumbledores. And it's not because of their old age and gray hair.
Logan Roy doesn't like to speak of his past, as he made abundantly clear in Season 2's "Dundee." But when suffering from a UTI in "Retired Janitors of Idaho," he made a rare reference to his sister Rose on Succession. As the Demented Fucking Piss Mad King of England, Logan believes that there was a dead cat under his chair and doesn't want Rose to see it. It's sweet, really... if you ignore the whole psychosis because he didn't take his UTI medication part.
In "Dundee," Rose was a sore subject that Logan's kids exploited by having Rhea Jarrell bring her up. At the end of the episode, Logan's older brother Ewan gave some insight into why Rose is such a sensitive subject for the Waystar Royco CEO. "All those years blaming yourself for Rose," Ewan says. "That really wasn't your fault."
