Carrie Bradshaw's Glasses In The Reboot Are Chic (& Expensive)

There comes a point in time in most people's lives (and by most people, I mean 62% of adults 40+) when you have to pull the phone away from your face. I know that 62% of you out there know what I'm talking about. The font suddenly becomes smaller and blurrier and just like that, you need reading glasses. Carrie Bradshaw understands. On the Sex and the City reboot, Carrie's reading glasses are an accessories inspiration for those of us who need just a lilllll help seeing our screens.

So (brace yourselves)... I couldn't help but wonder, who makes Carrie's readers? How can I buy them? And more importantly, can I come even remotely close to affording them?

The publicist for And Just Like That told me over email that Carrie's glasses were inspired by Sarah Jessica Parker's style. "SJP gave us references of frameless glasses a la Sophia Loren in the '70s," they wrote, and the one Carrie's wearing in the show "really gave that feel, as well as bringing that reference to a more sleek and modern place."

The publicist shared that Carrie's glasses are made Mykia, and from my own research, it looks like they're the Meryl glasses and seem to retail for roughly $574. The website describes the glasses as "a neo vintage look made for vibrant city dreams." OK!!

Mykita is based in Berlin and was founded in 2003 with "a clear aesthetic vision and a readiness to do things ourselves." The brand has shops all over the world and it seems that currently, CoolFrames.com is selling the Meryl frames online.
