You Definitely Missed This 'Riverdale' & 'CAOS' Crossover

For years, we've been dying for any Riverdale and Chilling Adventures of Sabrina crossovers, only to have one happen right under our noses! There was a really sneaky CAOS crossover in Riverdale's "Fire In The Sky" — and we all missed it.

Back in February, CAOS and Riverdale showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa teased the possibility of a crossover in an interview with Entertainment Tonight, saying, "We have had a lot of conversations about figuring out a way to bring characters from Katy Keene to Riverdale and from Sabrina to Riverdale, so it's more possible than it's ever been." Fans hoped that Sabrina herself might be making an appearance, or maybe Harvey Kinkle and the Fright Club would perform at the Whyte Wyrm. But, no, it turns out the crossover appearance was way more low-key than we could have ever predicted.

Remember the homeless man who walked into Archie's gym, interrupting his seriously amateur volunteer firefighter training? The one who cautioned Archie that people had tried to save this town before before turning away to return to his home on Sketch Alley? Well, as noted by Decider Managing Editor Alex Zalben, that guy is also the Uninvited from the last season of CAOS. They're both played by the same actor, Brahm Taylor.

For those of you who didn't watch Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, the Uninvited was one of the Eldritch Terrors who arrived in Greendale in the show's final season. An ancient evil being, the Uninvited is cursed to be alone. He's unkempt, frightening, off-putting in every way. He traps victims by showing up at their homes looking for help, but when he's turned away — and he almost always is — he comes back to pull out the hearts of those that denied him. In CAOS, he's also a precursor of a greater evil to come, The Void, which is essentially a force that wants to swallow the entire world and destroy it for good. He's like a Riverdale serial killer, but with a magical twist.
