There are plenty of mysteries to unravel in the remainder of Riverdale Season 5, from the Mothmen mystery, to the identity of the Trash Bag Killer. However, for Betty, the most personal mystery is where her sister Polly is — if Polly is even still alive on Riverdale, that is.

The last time we saw Polly, she was running away from a big rig truck with a skeleton tied to the front. (Never a good sign.) Since then, a terrified Polly has contacted her mom Alice on the phone, but no one has been able to get in touch with her. Then, Alice and Betty went to a phone booth where Polly called them from — only to find it stained with blood that matched Polly's type.

Of course, this is Riverdale, so things aren't always what they appear to be. With that said, it was a lot of blood. So either Polly is pulling a major prank on Betty, Gone Girl-style, with some extra blood she had laying around, or she's in real trouble. In The Dipp's April Clubhouse event with Riverdale writer Evan Kyle and @nocontextrvd's Macy Jones, Evan teased that fans can expect information about Polly's whereabouts soon — but maybe not right when the show returns in August. (And yes, you read that right. Riverdale's Season 5 return was pushed back from July 7 to August 11.)
