The album cover that INSTANTLY pops into mind is 'Throwing Copper' by Live. It's the album that has "Lightning Crashes" on it. Dark green. Moody. Perfect for a pre-teen and a boombox.

I can also draw from memory TLC's 'Crazy Sexy Cool'

I don’t know if they’re my favorite, necessarily, but the three I remember most and are thus extraordinarily iconic:

I remember being so confused about the last one — the sheepdog or whatever it is really looks like one of those pictures where there’s a bunch of objects that look like nothing. 

Not a heyday choice, but the cover of Tame Impala's 'Currents' is trippy as hell and I love it. 

For nostalgia's sake though, I spent hours of my life staring at DMB's 'Crash' cover. 

I remember Tool had the coolest album covers. I think the one for Lateralus was printed on clear plastic and each page was a different layer, so each page looked neat but together the whole thing was like WOAH.

One thing that makes me sad about spotify is the death of not only the album, but the album cover. They still "exist," yes, but it used to be such a strong expression of art and the music itself. But, thinking back to those heydays, what was your favorite cover art?
