Honestly? I would bet a lot of people don’t know know that. These films aren’t heavily marketed, so you do kind of have to look for them. The steamers are tailoring their algorithms to us, so, if you aren’t a big movies watcher, you might not be getting served them. It’s more that the steamers should do a better job pushing high quality content to ALL their users.

One of my biggest pet peeves surrounding the Oscars is when people complain that they nominate movies no one has seen. I guess I could see that argument before streaming (even if it was a cop-out) but literally ev-er-y-thing is available on streaming. And even when movies don't go right to streaming anymore, they are available on demand within just a few weeks of their theatrical release. 

So, if you hadn't heard of, say, CODA, before the nominations were released, wouldn't that spike your interest in seeking out a good movie that wasn't originally on your radar? Branch out!
