The (Next) Greatest Star

After recently seeing The Worst Person in the World and finding all three leads to be more telegenic than most American working actors today, who do you all think should be a bigger star? Or who is on the precipice of stardom?

Clearly whoever gets the Madonna biopic is going to explode—and FYI, the fact that that Madonna is running those girlies through some kind of bootcamp right now to win the role? I would like to see it!

Rachel Zegler and Ariana DeBose both deserve to be huge stars! I’d say the cast of Squid Game should be huge stars, but I think they are to everyone but me.

But my real answer is Jharrel Jerome. His performances in Moonlight and When They See Us are so nuanced and lived in. He can give an acceptance speech (go watch his Emmy win). Frankly, he has all the talent of my favorite white rapper Timothee Chalamet and just needs the opportunity.

I should add Jessie Buckley (The Lost Daughter) will be an actress, not a star.

P.S. I didn't really love The Worst Person in the World, but the men are giving what men should give on film!
