It’s not that they have to. They’re trying something different just like every genre. IE: Dr. Strange wasn’t the average Marvel or superhero movie — it was also a horror movie. Joker isn’t a part of the  ‘official’ DC timeline so it is trying another style too. I’m  excited because Gaga gives the best Harley Quinn vibes— add music it and I’m a happy camper. I need them to make more superhero movies, shows, spin offs. From the ones we know and love from the video games and comics to the villains

News came today that Lady Gaga is in talks to join Joaquin Phoenix in a Joker sequel... that is also a musical.

Are we so thin on material at this point that we have to create superhero musicals now? This is feeling eerily close to The Simpsons' Planet of the Apes musical. 

Is this how superhero films finally jump the shark?
