Also, I thought that widening the number of Best Picture nominees was the main attempt to democratize the Oscars. Theoretically, if you have more than five nominees, there's room to include the Marvel films, or other crowd pleasers. So... what's the point of this?

That said, maybe this is what we need to finally give Jackass its due. Talk about blood, sweat, and tears. 

I actually feel like this is good khaos. They didn’t nominate a lot of things that should have been so why nor let the people choose. The oscars have really been terrible for forever but especially these last few years 

How could this go wrong?... How much time do you have? 

Not only does this make the oscars look like a kid's choice awards where someone gets slimmed, but it's going to allow for so much inaccurate reporting... ANY movie? All around terrible idea.
