We should have seen this coming with Lindsay....
Yes, we are still talking about Lindsay, Ciara, and Austen.
On this weeks pod, we take a closer look at Lindsay's relationship history. When I noticed this similarity in how she handles breakups, or rejection, it made a lot more sense on why she is handling *this* situation the way she is.
Carl & Lindsay, part 1: Season 4 was the first time we got a taste of HUBBITO. The flame burned out pretty quickly, and even though there was some tension, they went straight back to being BFFS. No tears over Carl.
Lindsay & Stravy: Season 5. We went on a little bit of a rollercoaster with this one, but let's hone in on the breakup phone call on the beach. Lindsay was so nonchalant about that breakup. She so calmly told him it was over. The same guy she planned engaged, married, BABIES with!? No tears over Stephen.
Lindsay & Austen: Winter House, season 1. "I'M. IN. LOVE. WITH. YOU." Was immediately shot down by her long time bestie, Austen. And what happened? She swiftly moved on to Jason. No tears over Austen.
Without trying to psychoanalyze her, she has been very open about her abandonment issues due to her relationship (or lack thereof) with her mother. Does Lindsay completely shut down at rejection? I think, yes. So I'm not surprised that Lindsay doesn't have an overtly emotional reaction to, well, anything. Ciara, on the other hand, wears her heart on her sleeve. She can't fight the tears over Austen. Is this why it is impossible for the two of them to see eye to eye?
Can anyone remember a time where Lindsay was REALLY distraught about a relationship ending? At least, on camera.
