I have a childhood friend who is an actress who pops up in commercials from time to time. It's really jarring, to be honest — seeing someone you know on television feels like you're watching something that exists outside yourself. 

Did it pull you out of it? i once saw an ex in an episode of SVU as a rookie cop and all i could think is... that guy couldn't chase a perp if his life depended on it

Ha! That's so fun though. That happened with me and an episode of The Hills. Saw a girl I went to high school with at one of the parties they were at. This was the original run of The Hills -- like 2007 -- when Facebook was still kinda cool, so I messaged her and was like "hey! Saw you on The Hills! so cool"... and she never responded. Yes it's been 15 years and I still remember.

Sounds cool as f!! Hit them up and be like hey I saw you! Congrats! I bet it’ll make their day. 

Just as the title says, I was watching last season and the ep where Maisel's ex husband opens up the new club and sure enough, in the background in one of the scenes I recognized a guy I went to high school with. I did some googling and I realized he's a working actor!

Def a weird moment though...watching one of your favorite shows and seeing someone you know in the background of a scene dressed up like a comedy club goer in the 1950s.

I saw someone I went to high school with in the background of an episode of this show.
