After getting caught up in the drama of Love Is Blind, and spending my downtime keeping up with the cast on Instagram, you'd think my number one priority would have been marking my calendar with the date for Love Is Blind Season 2 After the Altar special. Alas, I had forgotten all about it! (Too distracted by Shake's Instagrams, sorry!) But thankfully, Deepti dropped a bomb on the Chicks in the Office podcast and said we had to tune in to After the Altar to see what's happening with her and Kyle. Consider me intrigued, Deeps.
Deepti's comment makes me think that either After the Altar has already filmed, is filming, or is about to film. So when do we possibly think we could be getting this snapshot into their lives now? Let's investigate based on the Season 1 timeline.
- Season 1 filmed in the fall of 2018.
- The Season 1 couples got married in November 2018.
- Season 1 premiered on February 13, 2020.
- Season 1's After the Altar was filmed in November of 2020. This is basically 2 years after the initial filming, marking the second anniversary for the married couples. The delay in this could be due to COVID-19.
- Season 1's After the Altar premiered on July 28, 2021.
- Season 2 filmed in the spring of 2021.
- Season 2 couples got married in June 2021.
- Season 2 premiered on February 11, 2022.
Using this same timeline, Season 2's After the Altar would be filmed 2 years after the initial filming, so spring 2023. That seems too far away (considering the cast is already teasing it). Plus, COVID's restrictions could have played a huge role in releasing this to the public. So, if we look at anniversaries being what would bring the cast together again, it's possible they may film After the Altar this June. Getting the gang back together on your one year anniversary seems like the perfect way to celebrate, right?
I think the fact that Netflix already filmed the third season will definitely expedite this process. Especially if they are hoping to release it within the year, as Variety reports.
