The product of being told every day that we all need to work on our personal brand.

It could be worse. She could be big on LinkedIn. Or Parlor.

It's also weird when they ask if you're willing to have your picture on their socials. I come from a place of YES, but, just, no. 

I think I'm fine with it if she's generally pushing women's health content and providing commentary on health issues with a smattering of personality and fashion in between. We've got multitudes and I learned from Grey's Anatomy that doctors are a kooky bunch with a lot of interpersonal drama, which sounds ripe for IG. 

Maybe this is an over-reaction but I would see this as a red flag. I would want my doc to be focusing 100% of her time on her craft, taking care of patients and understanding health issues. To get to 13k followers, she's prob been thinking a lot about social, a discipline that has very little with treating your health. But if you think she's doing a good job, that's fine! 

At first, my initial reaction is... fuck yes it is weird and makes me uncomfy. But then, I'm like well depends on the kind of Doctor. I don't know if I want my neurologist pushing Flat Tummy Tea. But a gyno showing us her OOTD's feels very Mindy Lahiri and I am ok with that. 

I recently started seeing a new doctor. She was great, no notes on her doctoring abilities! But after our first appointment, I found out that she is IG famous. (Has over 13k followers on Instagram.) 

It should be noted that she seems to have such a following for content related to her field of work. 

But then, I saw that she posted an OOTD the day I was in the office. And if my math is correct, like within the hour window of me being in a small cold room, waiting for her to come in. It made me feel weird! I didn't at all feel neglected, but now whenever I see her, I feel like I'm just going to see her use of hashtags and IG/TikTok trends!
