See if it was me I wouldn’t say anything but would give my death stare every time he did it. Surprisingly this works in a lot of situations (RBF for the win amirite?) however if he continued I would eventually lose control and say something outright that would come off as very brash like when i told this girl in college to stop chewing her gum like cow. Sorry but mouth sounds really bother me. 

But don’t be like me, just be like hey man this is bothering me, can we talk about it? 

omg Morgan I am sickened for you. I once worked with a woman who burped a lot because of anxiety, which I could tolerate because it wasn't like, a Homer Simpson belch, it was like a breathy little hiccup. If you're dealing with someone belching and he's looking for a reaction, I think you can give him one. If it seems involuntary, yeah, you're screwed.

I’m no help but I had a coworker who did this all time, it was disgusting! When people mentioned something to her she would just say better than coming out the other end! 

If he’s brash enough to burp in front of you, I almost feel like you can be brash back at him and ask him to stop. Or, next time he does it, you can ask if he needs an antacid or something.

First of all, gross. But second of all, it's possible he simply cannot help it, due to some underlying health issue. 

I would pull him aside and ask him about it. "Hey, I noticed you have been burping a lot — is everything okay? Could I get you some Pepcid or something?" 

I'd offer a gum or antacid after he does it

Is there etiquette on how to tell a coworker to stop burping?

I have one coworker who does not care to let one rip at least once an hour. I find this particularly annoying because first of all, gross. And secondly, we are the only two people in a room together. So every time this person burps, it's pretty much AT me.

I don't have much of a relationship with this coworker. He is new to the job. We have only known each other a couple of weeks, so you would think he would be insecure to burp so much around me. Nope. I think he secretly likes it.

It really does gross me out, but I don't know him well enough yet to tell him to stop being disgusting. How can I break it to him gently?
