I actually got a 23 & Me kit for Christmas and I will say it is pretty accurate. There were some things I didn't know that I had. But from, what my family has told me about my heritage did show up on the DNA test. So I don't think it hurts to try it out.

I feel like every so often I get interested in doing one of those DNA/ancestry tests, but always decide against it for some reason. My mom was adopted, so I feel like there's a lot about my ethnicity/background that I don't know!

I think the two biggest things that hold me back is I remember reading that one brand just isn't very accurate bc it only compares your DNA to other people who have taken the test, and the other is privacy concerns. 

So for those of you who have gone through with it -- which test did you do and do you feel like the results were accurate? Anything you'd avoid?
