Who Is Milo Sparks On 'Gossip Girl'? He's Connected To The Original Series

You can tell Jesus, the bitch is back. Well, at least her son is.

The latest episode of HBO Max's Gossip Girl revival finally brought in a character from the original series, and while you may not recognize his face, you'll certainly recognize his scheming ways. Enter Milo Sparks, the son of Georgina Sparks, who is just as cunning as his mother, a notorious agent of chaos.

In episode 4 of Gossip Girl 2.0., Zoya meets a slightly creepy child on the steps of the Met. He introduces himself as Milo Sparks, and says he is in the 8th grade, despite being just 10 years old. (Legally, he shares, his last name is Russian, but he's using Sparks given "this climate.") Milo tells Zoya that he can help her get back at her older sister Julien, who Zoya is currently at war with.

Milo takes Zoya to his palatial penthouse, where he gives her some advice from his mom: "Mom says never go to war. Wars never end. What you need is a coup." Cue the show revealing a wall of photos of Georgina with high-powered figures and pop culture icons like Elon Musk, Vladimir Putin, and... Ed Sheeran. (Naturally, Blair Waldorf gets her own portrait on the wall.) After Milo instructs his nanny (they "got her from Ivanka") to fix his papaya snack, he helps Zoya "cancel" Julien, by digging far back in her social media feed to find a few fat-shaming posts.

For those who need refreshing — this isn't the first time Gossip Girl fans have met Milo. In fact, he was a big plot point in Season 4 of the original series, despite being just an infant at the time. At the end of Season 3, Georgina shows up on the doorstep of Dan Humphrey's Brooklyn loft nine months pregnant — and tells him that the baby is his. Dan believes that Milo is his son for months, until the truth comes out: Georgina had a whirlwind affair with a Russian man, only for his wife to find out about their situation and put a hit out on her and Milo. In order for Georgina to protect herself and her son, she made it seem like Dan was the dad.

Milo popped up many times over the rest of the series, which saw Georgina married to a nice, accommodating man named Philip Becker. It's unclear what happens to that relationship, however, in the series finale of the original Gossip Girl, Georgina is in a relationship with Chuck Bass' uncle Jack instead.

It's unclear if Jack is still in the picture (he's not literally on the wall of photos in Milo's apartment) or if he or Georgina will ever pop up in the new series. However, Milo's presence is just one fun Easter egg for OG GG fans — it's proof that, while the new Gossip Girl is pretty different from the original, it hasn't forgotten its pedigree.
