The grandmother in Encanto is toxic AF

I know she comes around in the end, and also lived through something tragic, but the latter doesn’t excuse poor behavior.

This woman:

-Ostracized her granddaughter for seemingly not having a gift

-Guilted her into believing she could screw it up for other members of the family

-Was totally cool with her son being excommunicated from the family after seeing a not-so-acceptable vision

-Only came around when it was clear she needed Mirabel to save the day

I know we’re supposed to be happy when they all make up in the end, but I was kind of hoping for a little more acknowledgement of her behavior.
