Bread n Butter pickles

I don’t care for pickles much. But I do care why certain things are referred to by their name like bread n butter pickles. Legend has it — this one family used to trade pickles for bread n butter. But there’s also people who serve pickle sandwiches made of bread and butter. Here’s the kicker though — there’s an argument that the butter we speak of is actually peanut butter. Gross af.
