Britney Spears is the context-free queen. Or, at least her social media is. Britney’s Instagram grid swings wildly from throwback photos to twirling dance videos to random images dragged from the internet (i.e., a black-and-white picture of a Victorian woman hugging a skeleton) and last week, fan speculation swirled around the meaning of the video she posted showing her in a crop top, staring at the camera.
The video’s content (though it was bizarre, it was relatively normal for Britney) wasn’t what sparked curiosity.
It was the caption:
“So this video for Just a Touch of Rose was shot last year ...these specific takes have never been seen so it's sort of new to me !!!! I have over 10 minutes of video for the Rose project and trust me that's A LOT 🌹🌹🌹!!!! Happy to share especially with a world that is empathetic and concerned with my life ... what can I say I'm FLATTERED 💁🏼♀️ !!! Here's to another beautiful summer of popsicles and sunbathing ☀️☀️☀️😜😜😜 !!!”
A weird caption is nothing new, though. For example, under a stock photo of an ice cream cone is:
“So .... I tried the ice cream diet and since my favorite flavor is strawberry 🍓 I realized after a week eating it twice a day I needed to mix it up !!!! I switched to chocolate 🍫 .... then I got bored of that one really fast so finally I went to vanilla 🍦🤣😂😋 !!!!”
