Well, it’s starting to feel like Groundhog Day aboard the M/Y Seanna on Below Deck: everyone has the poops, Rachel’s still embarrassing her crew, James is still a douche, and Elizabeth is still embarrassing herself.
Let's break down the last two weeks of Below Deck, from drunken outbursts, to Izzy's promotion, a sliver of doing good, and more.
The 800 lb. gorilla in the room — Rachel
Yachting is rife with people with extreme personalities and often times those people have substance abuse issues. I can attest to needing to let my hair down and blow off some steam after some particularly stressful charters. Not necessarily the healthiest outlet, but very common and almost expected sometimes.
I haven’t seen anything charter related that warrants the level to which Rachel has blown it with her crew. Her obnoxious and disrespectful behavior has finally made its way to Captain Lee’s ears, and up until this point no one has had the stones to really voice the group concerns. While I don’t disagree with Rachel’s assessment of James’ fuck boy ways, there’s a time and a place, and that crew dinner was most certainly neither of those.
What makes it worse is that she’s not acknowledging her toxicity towards the crew or attempting to tone down her behavior. I hold out no hope that that will change. I don’t give a shit how talented you are if you are an unpleasant asshole to be around.
